Bright Red and Yellow with Ponies by Marilyn

I have this total infatuation with color. I'm not sure what I'd do if I didn't have the option to wear anything with color. Color is known to evoke different feelings and emotions. I like to dress with how I'm feeling, which is usually bright. If I'm not in the best mood, I feel like how I dress is a way that can help bring my mood out of the dumps and be more cheerful. I usually aim to be pleasant and polite in public because it's really hard to go run an errand and deal with people who are not polite and pleasant. So why not start with your outfit when you go out? Dress in an outfit that is going to make you happier so that you can pass the positivity onto others who might not be having the best day.
One of my recent favorite colors to wear is this bright orangish-red.
Those of you who have been following for a while also know that I can't seem to get enough yellow into my wardrobe.
I decided to pair these two up along with this new pony print chiffon blouse.
When I purchase items to wear, I tend to stick to this imaginary color scheme in my head. Or it may just be the places I shop that have their own color scheme I tend to stick to.
I happened to buy these flats and cardigan at different times, yet they seem to match perfectly. I love it when that happens!
Developing a personal color scheme for your wardrobe can really help you save money in the long run because everything in your closet will go together!
What are some of your favorite colors to wear? Do any of you have an imaginary color scheme?
Hope you guys enjoy this fun outfit I threw together for casual outings.

5.14.13 // 3 Years Married

Three years ago today, we made the decision to spend the rest of our lives together. We couldn't be more happy about our decision.
We met in 2006 through the church we both attended at the time. Kaleb was only visiting Oklahoma on a break from doing mission work in Ireland (where he lived for a total of two and half years).

On his short break back that summer (about three weeks), we began hanging out and soon realized we had never felt about anyone the way we did about each other.
When Kaleb returned to Ireland to fulfill his mission, he decided at the next break that he would return to Oklahoma for good. We made our relationship official while Kaleb was in Ireland, but kept it a secret until he returned three months later.
In the summer of 2007, Marilyn actually decided to travel with Youth In Mission to Benin and Togo, Africa to do mission work for two months.
Our first year of our relationship was much about growing up together, learning how to communicate, and learning how to be in a long distance relationship.
After a few years of growing in each of these areas, Kaleb proposed in the summer in 2009. We were married on May 14, 2010 at Tres SueƱos Vineyards and Winery in Luther, Oklahoma. We were hoping for an outdoor wedding in a unique place that suited our vintage style and this venue ended up being perfect for us.

We managed to book one of our good friends, Carl Zoch to take our photographs for the big day and couldn't have been more happy with how these turned out. We feel that he was able to capture our essence perfectly and we loved having a friend be able to share in these moments with us!
To all of you married and unmarried friends, we hope that you will be encouraged. Even in the hardest of situations, marriage and relationships are a choice and not just based on feelings or emotions in the moment. We have to remind ourselves of this every day.  Here's to 3 years and hopefully to 70 more years!  Love is an amazing adventure and every day it gets better!

Berry Beat Juice by Kaleb

We recently took a liking to mixing veggies into our smoothies. If you are not fond of most vegetables, this is a great way to get that nutrition that you need by sneaking it into your fruit smoothie. We were inspired by a certain Jamba Juice smoothie to give beets a try. We formulated our own recipe, and the texture is somewhat unique, but very yummy! Give veggies a try in your smoothie. If you are not wanting to risk it as much, we might recommend substituting one of the beets for an extra apple. Hope you enjoy! (*A side note: beets very easily stain your skin, countertops, and clothing. When working with them, use caution and wear clothing you don't mind getting a little messy.)

Ingredients
2 Beets
2 Bananas
1 Apple
2 c. Mixed berries
1 c. Coconut Water

Directions
1. Peel/chop beets and place them into blender first. This allows them to get blended throughly since they are more firm than the rest of the ingredients. Also, I would recommend wearing gloves when peeling and chopping the beets because the pigment in them will stain your hands and whatever else it touches.
2. Place bananas, apple, and mixed berries in blender.
3. Finally pour the coconut water over the top of everything and blend throughly.
4. Garnish with goji berries. Enjoy!

An Owl Vase of Daisies by Marilyn

In case you didn't already know, I may have a small obsession with flowers. I haven't always been this passionate about them, but with age I've really developed this need to have live flowers in our home. It really livens up the place when they are sitting so cheerfully in the middle of your living room. I love all kinds of flowers, but we tend to buy daisies because they live for a long time if you care for them properly. We recently acquired this fun owl vase as well, which ends up being perfect for daisies. I am really enjoying playing around with different looks and uses for our new owl. I managed to snap a few photographs of some bouquets Kaleb brought home for me this weekend. Notice that we are using our new tree slices to set our vases on!
